Shows on the Indian small screen are often under the scanner for bringing forward an unrealistic story line, with lots of twists and turns. But actress Dipika Kakar, known for “Sasural Simar Ka”, says the TV shows are not far off from reality, but only more dramatic.
“I think they are far more dramatic, but I wouldn’t say that they are far off from reality,” Dipika told sources.
The actress went on to add that the story line of a show changes as per the target audience.
She said: “Basically it is for our target audience, especially my show. When I step out, I don’t have a lot of youth coming to meet me. I have mothers, married ladies, and kids because of the supernatural element in the show, coming to meet me.”
Dipika has been a part of the show, which went on air on Colors in 2011, since the beginning. The show began by telling the tale of two sisters who get married in the same family, and their life at their in-laws’ place. It went through many twists and turns.
The actress says she would love to explore culinary space on the small screen.
“I don’t have anything else right now. But if given a chance, I would love to do a cookery show as I love cooking,” she said.
