This will be history made on Indian television and it cannot get any better…
Star Plus popular show, ‘Ishqbaaaz’ keeps getting bigger and bigger with every passing day. While the show belonged to the category which had a massive online popularity but not TRPs, the show has now been gaining good numbers and is amongst the Top 10 or Top 15 shows since the past few weeks.
However, it seems, neither do the fans nor do the makers seem to be getting enough of the show. Perplexed what are we talking about?
According to a leading news portal, becoming the ‘one-of-a-kind’ channel, Star Plus is all set to present a ‘spin-off’ of ‘Ishqbaaaz.’
To those who may not be aware of what a spin-off is, it is a concept which is extremely popular in the west, where there is a popular show and another show is being launched with characters from the actual show but presented differently. For example, we all remember the cult show, ‘F.R.I.E.N.D.S’ which ran for 10 years and how the character ‘Joey’ enacted by actor Matt LeBlanc became a sensation. The character was so popular that a show named ‘Joey’ was presented portraying the life of Joey individually.
Getting inspired by the same, Star Plus may become the first channel to be doing this, by presenting a spin-off which will supposedly explore the lives of Omkara (Kunal Kulbhushan Jaisingh) and Rudra (Leenesh Mattoo).
The reason for the same has been mentioned as the span of 21 minutes of run-time is not enough to portray the lives of all the three brothers. The central plot continues to focus on Shivaay (Nakuul Mehta) and Anika (Surbhi Chandna), where usually, Omkara and Rudra’s lives take a backseat.
And to not disappoint the viewers, the makers are planning on presenting a spin-off with Omkara and Rudra as principal characters, but will also have characters from the original ‘Ishqbaaaz’ including Shivaay and Anika.
It is being said that the project is expected to go on floors in a few days and will apparently launch in February, taking the 10.30 pm slot, currently occupied by ‘P.O.W. – Bandi Yuddh Ke.’
We tried contacting Nakuul multiple times, however, he remained unavailable.
