Sony Entertainment Television’s India’s Best Dancer is currently the most popular talent show on Indian television. This weekend, the show will extend a warm welcome to actors Rajkummar Rao, Nushrratt Bharuccha, and Nora Fatehi as the guests. Nushrratt and Rajkummar, who will share interesting anecdotes about their journey, were thoroughly enthralled with all the contestants’ performances. Both the actors raised the bar a notch higher by dancing with the contestants wholeheartedly!
After contestant Mahammad Akib’s and choreographer Paul’s act on the song ‘Mujhe Chod Do Mere Haal Pe’ which shed light on the concept of deforestation, Rajkummar Rao appreciated Akib’s performance and further spilled the beans on his struggles and challenges before he carved a niche for himself in the industry. Rajkummar Rao is applauded by the audience for his understanding of the craft and nuanced performances in multiple films. However, the viewers may be unaware of his tryst with dancing. While everyone knows that Rajkummar is a swell actor, not many know about his passion for dancing and that he is a fantastic dancer as well. That’s when Contestant Shweta Warrier requested the actor to do an impromptu jig with all the female contestants, on the song ‘Milegi Milegi’. The actor agreed and joined everyone on stage. The judges were impressed with his moves and appreciated his dance skills.
Moreover, not many know that Rajkummar had in fact auditioned for Sony TV’s popular show Boogie Woogie. However, he was rejected in the audition phase. Rajkummar said, “Many years ago, when I was in class 11, I had come to Mumbai to audition for Boogie Woogie with my younger brother. But, I got rejected back then. It feels great to be here today, and witness such amazing performances. It was nice of the judges to give me 30 points for my performance with the contestants here.” Malaika Arora said, “Raj is a closet dancer, but not many know that he is a fabulous dancer and I was fortunate to dance with him in a film. We did a song in the movie ‘Dolly ki Doli’, we came on the set and were rehearsing, Raj was around and all quiet. But the moment the song started playing, he went all out with his dance.” Listening to the conversation, Nushrratt further added, “You should watch him at parties, if you play 90s Bollywood music, he dances really well to these songs.” Later, Malaika Arora also shook a leg with Rajkummar on the track ‘Nazar na lag jaaye’.
