Actress Nimrat Kaur, known for her stints in the international TV space, says she has no plans to venture on to the small screen in India anytime soon, and wants to focus on her film career.
Nimrat, who is seen in Manoj Night Shyamalan’s TV series “Wayward Pines”, also feels “TV work in the West” has a lot more scope.
“I have no plans to do television in India anytime soon. I am looking at only film work in India because TV work in the West has a lot more scope to get into an interesting phase here,” Nimrat told IANS in an email interview.
The actress, who earlier garnered applause for her role as a Pakistani ISI agent in American show “Homeland”, added that if given a chance she would love to explore the non-fiction television space.
She said: “I would love to do something non-fiction, but fiction, not anytime soon. Definitely not.”
The “Airlift” actress was paired with American star Jason Patric in the series, based on the “Wayward Pines” novels by Blake Crouch and developed for television by Chad Hodge.
The series stars Matt Dillon as Ethan Burke, a US Secret Service agent investigating the disappearance of two fellow agents in the mysterious small town of Wayward Pines, Idaho. The final episode of the series will be aired on Friday on Star World Premiere HD.
