MUMBAI: Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations have started in full swing across the country, and people are welcoming Bappa into their houses.
The festival is widely celebrated by television celebrities too. Ishq Subhan Allah fame Monica Khanna has a very interesting and unique concept for this year’s Ganpati celebration.
Monica, like last year, will welcome Bappa at her place and has urged visitors and guests to bring registers, books, pens, pencils, and other stationery as offerings to Bappa instead of sweets, garlands etc. All the stationery collected will be distributed amongst poor students.
Talking about this initiative, Monica said, ‘I got this idea from a friend who has been following this initiative every year. A lot of people have been calling me and asking if they too can start working on this idea. I want to spread the word so that we can eventually help the ones in need.’
Talking about Ganesh Chatruati, Monica added, ‘Bappa brings a very big smile along with him, and like a small kid, I jump around the house and welcome Bappa with an open heart and open arms. He abolishes all the obstacles, leading me to a happier life.’
